Our Philosophy

We love our family dogs. We do not have an outside kennel. Our cocker spaniels are raised and loved right in our home with our children. We believe in saving animals from the shelters and support this by adopting from them.We have adopted seven dogs from the shelters over the past twenty five years. Two of our dogs Julie and Sweetie were both from shelters. They were older cockers and turned out to be wonderful family members. We are pleased to give them a happy life with a family.

Our goal is to raise a limited number of cocker puppies with only the best health and personality. We will not sell to pet stores. Our puppies are sold on a AKC limited registration to an approved home only.

Cocker Spaniels do not like to be left alone. They are extremely sociable and seek human contact. They love to be lap dogs and need your attention daily. They do need regular grooming and exercise. They are love bugs and make great companions for all ages.

Before you choose The American Cocker be sure to research this breed. As with all dogs, they are not cheap to maintain. Proper feeding, medical attention, and grooming require financial resources. However, you will be blessed with a lifetime of unconditional love. Purchasing a puppy is a big decision that you should not take lightly so make sure the decision is an educated one.

Please read our Responsible Pet owner contract found under the contract heading. This contract describes your responsiblity as a pet owner and ours as a breeder to ensure the health and wellness of our puppies throughout their lives.

See the AKC web page on this site for our dogs AKC registrations. The American Kennel Club organization is over 125 years old. Visit www.akc.org for more information

Warning: Don't be fooled by APRI or ACA registration. It is not AKC. American Kennel Club has high standards which puppies with these registrations could not meet. Don't support the puppy mills. If you are purchasing a puppy please be sure it is AKC. Ask for proof of parents registration. Parents must have Full AKC in order to produce a litter. If the breeder can not show proof of AKC they should not be breeding and the the puppies may not be purebred.
